Collective Voices brings together four newly commissioned works for violin and piano, centered on themes of migration and belonging. Created by violinist Dr. Sophia Szokolay and supported by a grant from the New England Conservatory, composers Sam Wu, Marc Migó, Sid Richardson and Mehmet Ali Sanlikol reflect on what it means to build and carry “home,” resulting in a program that is both intimate and culturally relevant.
The artists came to America to study, share their talent, and become leaders in the arts. Beyond their work as composers, they are dedicated educators at top American institutions, shaping the next generation of musicians.
100% of ticket sales directly support the recording and production of these newly commissioned works, to be released as Sophia’s debut album this fall.
