Birding Walk: Saturday, August 1st, Orleans
Explore conservation gems around the shores of Pleasant Bay on birding walks led by Fi Lowry and Brandi Sikorski. Search for shorebirds and plovers as they return south from their Arctic nesting grounds, ospreys and willets, woodland birds feeding their newly fledged chicks, and an enticing variety of egrets, herons, and terns.
Learn where to look, and what to look and listen for, developing skills to find and identify birds in the field. With 2 leaders there to help, birders of all skill levels are welcome.
Meet in the parking for Paw Wah Conservation area in Orleans (no sticker required) for a half mile loop trail through woods and onto Little Pleasant Bay, then proceed to explore the nearby Window on the Bay Reserve.
