Public Invited to Watch the 2026 Home Builders Blitz Build and Celebrate a Local Family's New Home

FALMOUTH, MA —Next week, hundreds of Cape Cod builders, subcontractors, suppliers, volunteers, and community partners will come together to build a home for a local family, completing a three-bedroom home in just one week.

The 2026 Home Builders Blitz Build officially begins Monday, September 21, and continues through Friday, September 25, at 805 Gifford Street Extension in Falmouth, behind the Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod ReStore.

The public is invited to stop by throughout the week to watch the remarkable transformation as members of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC) donate their time, expertise, materials, and resources to construct the home from frame to finish.

By the end of the week, the home will belong to Sharon and Kevin and their three boys, who currently live in West Yarmouth. Kevin works as a landscaper, and Sharon is a healthcare worker. The family will soon have a home to call their own on Cape Cod.

“This is what the Blitz Build is all about, neighbors helping neighbors,” said Wendy Cullinan, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod. “In just one week, hundreds of people will come together to build a home that will make a lasting difference in the lives of Sharon, Kevin, and their three boys. We hope the community will come out and see this incredible transformation for themselves.”

A Home Builders Blitz is a unique partnership between Habitat Cape Cod and HBRACC in which local building professionals donate the labor and materials needed to construct a Habitat home in just one week. The 2026 Blitz Build marks the seventh partnership between the organizations. Previous Blitz Builds have taken place in Orleans, Harwich, Brewster, Dennis, and Falmouth.
The 2026 Blitz home is one of four affordable homes being built behind the Falmouth ReStore as part of Habitat Cape Cod's continued effort to create more affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.

About Habitat Cape Cod:
Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has built nearly 200 homes from Bourne to Provincetown and recently completed eight homes in Dennis and Wellfleet. In summer 2026, new builds in Brewster, Falmouth, and Pocasset started, with additional builds planned over the next few years in Yarmouth, Marstons Mills, Orleans, and North Falmouth. Qualifying families are selected via drawing, and future homeowners contribute sweat equity, helping build their homes alongside local volunteers, then purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage. Habitat Cape Cod has been nationally recognized for building energy-efficient, affordable homes. All homes are deed-restricted to remain affordable in perpetuity. Habitat Cape Cod relies on the generosity of our community to build affordable homes with local families. To ensure gifts stay local, donors must donate online at habitatcapecod.org or by mail to 411 Main Street, Suite 6, Yarmouth Port, MA 02675.
