Visit our historic “Hotel Nautilus” decorated during Chatham’s Christmas Stroll Weekend as it might have been for Christmas 1915. In the Summer of 1915, as World War I was unfolding and Guglielmo Marconi's American company was thus unable to inaugurate his wireless station, the residence hotel built to house his employees was operated instead as a summer resort hotel in order to defray expenses. Imagining the Hotel as it might have appeared in the Christmas seasons that followed, Chatham Marconi Maritime Center's volunteers have decorated it for you in the style of the period.
Also open in the Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum: Guglielmo Marconi’s original global wireless vision and legacy, RCA’s dominant 20th Century ship-to-shore wireless business- the Chatham Radio WCC-era, and Chatham Navy Radio’s secret WWII years with a special Enigma exhibit.
