Chatham Marconi Welcomes Dr. Kerry Emanuel to its Speaker Series, via Zoom
Professor Emeritus Kerry Emanuel of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, prominent meteorologist and climate scientist, will speak on Thursday, January 5 at 7:00 PM Eastern livestreamed via Zoom webinar. Prof. Emanuel has recently retired from the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) at MIT. He holds an S.B. degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences (1976) and a Ph.D. in Meteorology (1978), both from MIT. His career research interests have focused on tropical meteorology and climate, with a specialty in hurricane physics. As co-founder of MIT’s Lorenz Center, he remains actively involved in climate research which fosters creative approaches to learning how climate works. About the Chatham Marconi Speaker Series
Programs are presented on alternate Thursday evenings during the Summer, and on the first Thursday of each month from October through June. Subjects are drawn from the resources of the Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum, the STEM After Hours program, or member-suggested topics related to its mission. The series will be presented virtually, and if conditions permit also with a small live audience.
