Join the AWSC team for Earth Month and a special exhibit of “The Tide Falls” at the Shark Center. On display will be a selection of artwork from Cape Cod artist, Sarah Thornington (A Year of Plastic). Sarah is passionate about this beautiful planet of ours; picking up trash and doing beach cleanups have been a constant in her life. Recently, Sarah started thinking about the sheer quantity of marine debris she was collecting, and then either recycling or discarding; she realized she needed to start documenting her finds. The works on display are the product of that passion, turning litter into beauty.
Go at your pace on this self-guided tour of our exhibit hall and special art exhibit, or book a private tour with an AWSC educator. Visitors will have 60 minutes to explore the space. For a self-guided tour, we will be limiting the number of visitors per hour to 20 individuals. For private tours, families are limited to ten people per group. In an effort to protect guests, staff, and exhibits, this is a touch-free experience.
The Shark Center has exhibits to teach you and your family about the natural history of white sharks in this area, the ongoing white shark research, and their role in the marine ecosystem. Renovated this past winter, the outreach facility has a new layout with new exhibits for you to learn all about white sharks. Designed to create awareness and inspire conservation, this facility will have you walking out an ocean steward.
Guests are required to wear a mask throughout their visit to the Shark Center.
