The Chatham Marconi Maritime Center on Cape Cod was founded in 2002 as a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of Chatham Radio/WCC, “The World’s Greatest” ship-to-shore communication station. Originally commissioned by radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi, the Chatham station provided maritime communication services from 1921 until 1997.
The Center delivers on its mission in three ways: the Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum that traces the story of communication by wireless telegraphy in the 20th century, related STEM educational programs on campus and in local schools, and year-round interpretive programs and special events.
Chatham Marconi Maritime Center seeks an Executive Director to manage the operations of the Center and to work closely with the Board of Directors, building upon a foundation of success as an established, recognized museum and educational center to deliver the next phase of Chatham Marconi's development. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader skilled at accomplishing a range of responsibilities, including program management and delivery, fundraising, marketing, leadership of staff and volunteers, community outreach, planning, organizing and financial management.
The Center’s operations reflect the region’s seasonal tourism, with most museum visits in the summer/fall. STEM education programs operate in local classrooms during the school year and on campus during the summer. As the organization grows, our vision is to expand programming to appeal to the year-round community and virtual participants.
Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with education and experience. The complete job description and instructions for applying are available on the Center's website www.ChathamMarconi.org.
